Double Dog Yoga is my yoga “studio.”
I use the ” ” because for years I’ve resisted opening a yoga studio. Instead I’ve created a “mobile yoga studio” if you will, in which we conduct Double Dog Yoga classes in multiple locations. So this way I’m not tied to an actual brick-n-mortar studio and don’t have quite so much stress on my bank account!
Double Dog Yoga was created to help in introduce yoga to people who have never before tried yoga. I’ve found that lots of people want to give it a go, but haven’t exercised in a while and feel intimidated by yoga studios. I don’t blame them! Yoga studios can be a little scary when you’ve never been to one before. So the idea was to give new yogis a “yoga 101″ so that they felt confident to practice yoga in a gym or studio or at home. To my extreme joy, the students I started with actually wanted to continue practicing with me! So I started adding “Experienced” classes and now we even have an “Intermediate” class. I also have two awesome yoga teachers who have joined me, Chris and Kat
We teach vinyasa (flow) yoga to beginners. The style I practice and teach is Prana Flow, created by my teacher Shiva Rea.
I’ve been maintaining Double Dog Yoga Blog, which has been lots of fun. On it I’ve been writing about yoga, food, recipes, healthy living, and I recently decided that the yoga stuff might be better off separate from the rest. So here we are with Eat.Run.DoYoga, which is more personal and more about healthy living. We’ll see how it goes having two blogs!!
